From the lab: ready build prototype

To avoid having to drill a hole for the optical receiver in the enclosure, we used a blue transparent polycarbonate housing from Hammond manufacturing type 1591ETBU which is not too expensive (less than 14 euro at Farnell). The IR signal is dampened but we still got to a distance of 5 m before the circuit no longer responded to the remote control.
