There are devices available for power switching which include the advantages and contain both IGBT's and MOSFET's. Audiophiles argue about the relative merits of both bipolar and MOSFETs as power output devices, I propose that either a really good MOSFET amplifier using latteral MOSFETs be designed to address some of the arguments put forward by the bipolar brigade or , more interestingly, explore the possibility of a meld of both types in the output stage.
